Purpose of the Program


The purpose of the program is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of children receiving care away from their parents.

Provider Orientation


Provider orientation at the Pottawatomie County Health Department (PCHD) for licensed child care includes:
  • Application Packet
  • Appointment for initial licensed home survey
  • Complaint intake and investigation
  • Consultation with daycare providers and parents regarding regulations
  • Program eligibility: must be a Pottawatomie County, Kansas resident
  • Resource for provider training information
  • Surveyor will visit homes for annual licensed survey

Fees


Effective October 1, 2010:

  • Orientation - $20
  • Complaint checks (any type of facility) - $30 for every 30 minutes.
  • Compliance checks (any type of facility) - $15 for every 15 minutes.
  • Initial license fee and annual inspections (Group Day Care) - $70 plus state fee
  • Initial license fee and annual inspections (Licensed Day Care) - $65 plus state fee
  • Initial license fee and annual inspections (Preschools and Centers) - $100 plus state fee
